Irish Defence Forces
The Employment Support Scheme (ESS) will be accepting applications from 18-24 year old jobseekers, living in the Cork area. Please bring two approved forms of ID on the day (see below for the approved ids). To apply you are invited to attend either of the following roadshow events: • 18 Jan 18 at 10.00am in Cork Training Centre, Rossa Avenue, Bishopstown, Cork. • 23 Jan 18 at 10.00am St. John's Central College, Sawmill Street, Cork. The ESS is designed to provide participants with skills for life; practical skills which will assist them to enter the workforce or to pursue further education; targeted at those 18-24 year olds who are on the Live Register and who face barriers to gaining employment. The scheme takes place from 11 June to 17 August 2018 (10 weeks). The first 2 weeks of the programme will be fully residential. The remaining 8 weeks will be residential Monday to Friday only. Participants will be selected from the Cork area and they will be accommodated in Collins Barracks, Cork. Accommodation, travel and catering costs will be incurred by the Defence Forces. A Medical Card will be required to pay any medical bills that may be incurred during participation in the scheme. 2 Forms of ID (and medical card if held): ID can include Irish driving licence, Irish Public Services Card, Passport, Irish birth Certificate, Irish certificate of naturalisation, Garda National Immigration Bureau card, National ID card for EU/EEA/Swiss citizens, P60, P45 or old payslips with home address, Utility bill (not less than 6 months old).
